Championship Round

After completion of preliminary round play, the first place team in each pool will be seeded one (1) through three (3), based on scoring criteria. The remaining teams will then be seeded four (4) through 19. The bottom six (6) teams (14 – 19) will compete in play-in games (FCR-A, FCR-B &, FCR-C) to earn a position in the 16 team Championship Round. The losers of FCR-A, FCR-B & FCR-C will play extra games (FEG-1 & FEG-2) to fulfill the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship game guarantee. The play-in games and extra games are shown on grid sheet “Play-in & Extra Games”, and do not appear on the official Championship Round grids. The Championship Round is a double elimination format with a sudden death championship final (no 'if necessary game' played).
